5-LINE OPERATIONS
This division allows free flights. Any flight may be carried out with the aircraft and to the destination of choice. No restriction regarding the aircraft change rule at the Orly Hub. Flight hours and PIREPs count toward the VA career. Call sign ACFxxx or ACFxxxx (3 digits for domestic flights and 4 digits for international flights). Flight plan REMARK section: OPR/AIR INTER FLIGHT OPR BY AIR CHARTER INTERNATIONAL
5.0 - Members MUST NOT use their Company ID (e.g., IT001) instead of a flight number; they must either use a random 3- or 4-digit flight number (e.g., ITF756 or ITF2365, 3 digits for domestic flights, 4 digits for international flights), or, if possible, use the specified flight number for the flight (specified in the “Company” tab under “Schedules and Destinations” on the website). In addition, the flight number must change for each flight.
The use of a bigram (i.e., initials, e.g., AD for André Dupont, normally specified in the registration confirmation email) is optional and left to the members’ discretion.
Example of a flight number under IVAO:
Flight plan INDICATOR section: ITF756
If using a bigram: Flight plan REMARK section: IT756AD preceded by CALL/ or CALLSIGN/ or INDICATIVE/. Example: CALL/IT756AD
5.1 - Each member agrees to complete at least one flight (one PIREP filed and validated) every 60 days in order to maintain active member status. If no flight is validated within a 60-day period, the member’s status will automatically become inactive. However, inactive members and/or members set aside from the VA may submit a request to be reinstated to active status (at the discretion of the staff members and subject to the motivation provided by the requesting member).
5.1.1 - A member may request a period of inactivity for personal reasons. Acceptance and duration will depend on the member’s needs.
5.2 - Flight selection depends on the pilots and their availability (unless otherwise specified in schedules and/or subsidiary/fly-in flights). Pilots MUST perform flights in real-time mode (simulation time = x1) unless unavoidable circumstances beyond their control. PAUSE mode must be AVOIDED on IVAO and VATSIM networks, as well as prolonged absence from the cockpit unless approved by the controller and in accordance with IVAO and VATSIM rules.
5.3 - Members must strive to conduct flights as realistically as possible using all available systems/software/hardware (e.g., real weather/time, MAX simulation difficulty, etc.).
5.3.1 - The time used during a flight will be at the pilot’s discretion, chosen from the following three options:
- The user's local time
- The local time at the location where the flight takes place
- The scheduled flight time
5.4 - Members are responsible for submitting flight reports via the Operation Control Center - OCC's PIREP system (manually or via ACARS).
5.5 - For proper operation of the Operation Control Center - OCC and realism, it is requested (when possible and depending on the aircraft used) to follow these parameters, please note that the parameters for substitute aircraft (see §6.0) are also included:
- Load factor for all aircraft: per passenger = 83 kg (190 lb) + 3 kg (7 lb) carry-on + 19 kg (42 lb) checked baggage. Aircraft profiles in SIMBRIEF should be set accordingly.
- Passenger load factor: 80% for Air Inter flights
- Passenger load factor: 100% for Air Charter International flights
- Cargo load factor: 80% for Inter Cargo Service flights
- Cost Index Airbus A330 = Medium haul 60 / Long haul 30
- Cost Index Airbus A319/A320/A321 = 50
- Flight altitude = Use optimal altitude for the aircraft type according to route and weight per manuals and charts
- Speed = Use speeds calculated from CI or LRC or per aircraft charts. Example: Fokker 100 CI = 40 and LRC
- Fueling: The OCC automatically calculates fuel cost from departure airport. Only carry necessary fuel for the flight (complying with regulations). Example: No need to fully tank a Boeing 747-128 for Paris-Nice
- Fuel calculation = (Route + 5%) + diversion + expected holding (if known) and/or discretion of Captain + 45 minutes at economic cruise
a) Fokker 100 procedures
- Normal operation with TAY 650-15 engines: Cost Index 40 (for long-haul sectors use CI 24 in climb, then CI 30 in cruise). Use LRC mode.
- Normal operation with TAY 620-15 engines: Cost Index 24 in climb, then CI 40 in cruise. Use LRC mode.
- Normal takeoff configuration: Flaps 0.
- Flaps 8° takeoff mandatory: after ground de-icing or when required by performance considerations (short or contaminated runway).
- Flaps 15° takeoff mandatory: when a Low Level Windshear (LLWS) advisory is in effect.
- FLEX takeoff permitted, except when a Low Level Windshear (LLWS) advisory is in effect or when required by performance considerations (short or contaminated runway); in these cases, full TO thrust is mandatory.
- During winter operations / cold weather conditions: ECS bleeds set to ECON for the entire flight. Use NORM during the rest of the year.
- Standard landing configuration: Flaps 42°, except when a Low Level Windshear (LLWS) advisory is in effect or when required by performance considerations (short or contaminated runway).
- Flaps 25 landing mandatory: for automatic landings or CAT II/CAT III approaches, when a Low Level Windshear (LLWS) advisory is in effect, or in the event of an engine failure.
- Use IDLE REVERSE only (unless additional reverse thrust is required).
b) Aircraft Parameters
Go to "The Training center" then "Aircraft Parameters" or clic HERE.
5.6 - Use of Air Inter VA call signs on IVAO and VATSIM networks:
Flight plan call signs are no longer automatically recognized. To be called correctly by controllers:
- For Air Inter: Add to the FPL REMARK section: OPR/Air Inter
- For Air Charter International: Add to the FPL REMARK section: OPR/Air Charter International
- For Inter Cargo Service: Add to the FPL REMARK section: OPR/Inter Cargo Services
